And Practice MADE Perfect!
Christmas 2022
On the evening of December 13, 2022, the Salado Community Chorus performed their Christmas Concert before a standing room only crowd at First Baptist Church. Chorus Director Dottie Shirley said, “We don’t have an official count, but I know the sanctuary has the capacity to seat about 600 people, so we are confident that this was one of the largest crowds we’ve sung for in quite some time!”
The 50+ member chorus, made up of residents from Belton, Georgetown, Harker Heights, Holland, Killeen, Nolanville, Salado, and Waco, rehearsed every Tuesday evening from August to December from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Salado Civic Center. The accompanist at the Christmas Show was Dr. David Albee, a retired piano professor from Baylor University.
Shirley has directed the chorus for the past four years and has been a member of several choruses over the past 18 years.
